agapē (pronounced ag-uh-pay)
- the love that seeks the highest good for others
- the love that depends on the deliberate will of the one loving rather than the actions of the one being loved
- active goodwill
God shows His love towards us by actively sending His Son to die for us even while we were dead sinful enemies. (Romans 5:8, John 3:16, Colossians 3:14)
